My Life in Paris and Travels Around France
If you know me or even have just been following me on Instagram for a while I’m sure it’s pretty obvious that I’m a Christmas fanatic. I love everything about the season from the music to the foods, general cheer, gatherings, and of course the decor. I’m so excited to share my second vintage French Christmas collection on La Porte Bonheur. The collection includes a selection of vintage French Christmas ornaments, linens, and accessories.
I’m from Texas, so anytime there’s a chance for snow in the forecast anywhere I get excited. Snow in Paris is rare, but when it does happen it’s completely magical. Last Saturday the stars aligned and I got a chance to take a brief but wonderful walk through Paris in the snow.
For my last post before Christmas I wanted to keep it simple and festive. I decided to share what I think are the most beautiful Christmas lights in Paris. December in Paris is such a wonderful, usually underrated month in the City of Lights. The extra sparkles after dark just make Paris that much more beautiful.
Normally right now I’d be on a plane bound for Dallas heading home for Christmas, New Years, and to celebrate my birthday with friends and family. None of which is happening this year. At this point in 2020 nothing surprises me, but it doesn’t make things feel easier. This year I’ll be spending my first Christmas in Paris and my first Christmas away from my family.
Seeing the Ritz Paris Christmas Tree is something I’ve really come to look forward to every year, but especially in 2020. Being inside the hotel is a special experience no matter what time of year, but there’s just something about it during the holidays that is absolutely magical. Floral designer Anne Vitchen really outdid herself with the tree this year.
