With the arrival of cooler temperatures in Paris I have to admit I’ve been daydreaming a bit about fall and winter menu changes and some of my favorite dishes. I thought it would be the perfect time to share my top five classic French restaurants in Paris (it’s hard for me to limit my picks, I could easily make a list of 50). The restaurants within all hit the marks for excellent food, service, and atmosphere.
Lapérouse Paris Restaurant: La Masion de Plaisirs
Lapérouse is one of the oldest restaurants in Paris and surely one of the most storied thanks to its private salons – it isn’t called the “Maison de Plaisirs” for nothing. I’d been dying to try Lapérouse for quite some time and its recent renovations finally pushed me over the edge to get there.
Best Burger in Paris: Dumbo
Dumbo is hands down the Best Burger in Paris. Period. Game over. No questions asked. In fact, I think it might be the Best Burger I’ve ever had anywhere.
Clover Grill
The first time I went to Jean-François Piège’s Clover Grill was because my friend requested a place with a great burger, fries, mashed potatoes and atmosphere. Clover Grill had been on my list for a while and luckily we were able to make a last minute reservation at the bar.
Le Voltaire Paris

My parents first took me to Le Voltaire in 2012 before I started my semester abroad in Paris. I remember the experience vividly for two reasons. First, it took us 45 minutes in a taxi to get from the Grand Palais to the restaurant…traffic. The second thing that I remember is there was only one other couple in the restaurant, also Americans, because we had dinner at 7:30 PM.
