With the arrival of August it’s officially summer in France. Many places around Paris are already closed for les vacances. It’s a quiet time in the city but also a nice time to visit. Some of my favorite articles from Weekend Links Week 31 include the story behind Lapérouse Café, photos from a gorgeous wedding on the Côte d’Azur, a tour of the Maje founder’s Normandy getaway, a great list of some of the best restaurants in Paris. Enjoy!
Five Friday Finds from France: July 30th
I’ve you’ve talked to anyone who’s been in Paris over the past week chances are they’ve told you it feels more like October (or November) than July. It’s been especially rainy and uncharacteristically chilly, which I will take over a heatwave any day. This week’s Five Friday Finds from France features some fun Nathalie Lete x Anthropologie plates, where to find the strongest coffee in Paris, a recipe to try with your summer eggplant and more!
Weekend Links: Week 30
It’s hard to believe that this it’s already week 30 of Weekend Links. It seems like time is really flying by this year. Some of my favorites from the week include a free virtual exhibit from the Museum of Impressionisms in Giverny, how to bring back the Salon experience (and not the salon for hair and nails), 30 photos from Slim Aarons that capture the essence of summer, and a list of new ice cream shops to try in Paris. I hope you enjoy!
Five Friday Finds from France: July 23rd
Happy Friday from Paris! It felt like I pushed the reset button after a very fun, but broken up week last week with the Fête Nationale on Wednesday. After almost six months of waiting (just five days short) I finally picked up my Titre de Séjour, my French residence card, this week. Unfortunately, almost all of the horror stories you hear about the French administration are true. It’s just part of the experience! This week’s Five Friday Finds from France features the croissant from Le Boulanger de la Tour (it’s worth going out of your way to get), a note about traveling to Paris during les vacances, a book on French Château Living and more.
Weekend Links: Week 29
Certain editions of this series are more robust than others and that is certainly the case with Weekend Links Week 29. There’s lots of good information regarding the health pass which is important to know if you’re traveling to France soon. Some of my favorite articles include an interview with Omar Sy from Lupin, the best food lessons from a French mother-in-law, news on a new Julia Child documentary, baguette secrets and photos of the beautiful Château du Grand-Lucé.
