Now more than ever, I think Valentine’s Day should be less about grand gestures and more about doing heartfelt things to honor the people you love, whether that’s a friend, a family member, a partner, or yourself. I created this list of Valentine’s Day gift ideas for Francophiles last year and updated it this year. There’s a little something for everyone – I think these French-inspired gifts (all available online) would make the day extra special!

Le Creuset Red Heart-Shaped Dutch Oven
Cooking is more fun when you use Le Creuset. The pieces are definitely an investment, but if you take care of them they’ll last forever. For Valentine’s Day (and really any special occasion) I don’t think there’s anything sweeter than this Le Creuset Heart-Shaped Cocotte. It would honestly become my go-to Le Creuset piece. If you don’t want to overdo the Valentine’s Day theme, the heart mugs are adorable. You could buy a heart-shaped knob that you could swap out and use on any of your existing pieces. Paris Chic
I hope I don’t sound like a broken record at this point, but I’m completely in love with the new Paris Chic book. Looking through the pages is like taking a virtual trip to Paris. Any Francophile and especially fans of Paris will be obsessed with this book. It’s the next best thing to taking an actual trip to Paris right now.
French Love Poems
My mom gave me this sweet book of poems for Christmas a few years ago and it’s true – good things come in small packages. French Love Poems would be great for a hopeless romantic or anyone wanting to practice their French – each poem is in both English and French!
SomMailier French Wine Club Subscription
Over the holidays in Dallas we enjoyed some delicious French wines thanks to somMailier. They were kind enough to send me a C’est La Vie box to try and I was majorly impressed. It’s a quarterly subscription, and you have the choice of receiving three, six, or twelve bottles per shipment with reds, whites or a mix. I’ve tried other wine subscriptions in the past, but none has been as impressive as somMailier.
Each of the French wines selected are exclusive to somMailier and otherwise not available in the US. The founder, Laurent Yung comes from five generations of winemakers in Bordeaux and started the club after he lived in the US for a while and started missing French wines. His brother owns a wine distribution company in Paris, so they work together to source these small boutique wines.
Each of the bottles comes with a card that tells you about the wine, winemaker, grape variety, region, climate, and a recommended food pairing. There’s also notes on the aromas and flavors with a place for you to make your own notes. In case you misplace the card, on the back of each bottle it also gives you a recommended serving temperature, when to drink (now or store up to however many years), ideal pairings, and the grape variety.
I’m not a wine expert, but I love this approachable way of learning about different wines from different regions. It’s almost like a mini wine tasting with an expert in the comfort of your own home and whenever you want. I highly recommend trying somMailier – you can also ship wines as a gift or purchase individual wines from their online wine cellar.
French Cheese Assortment
For a Valentine’s Day at home what could be better than an assortment of French cheeses delivered directly to your door? The assortment includes four delicious cheeses: Pont L’Eveque from Normandy, Comté Reserve, a Bûche de Chèvre, and Fourme d’Ambert. To really enjoy these cheeses the French way, be sure to save your cheese course until just before dessert!

Speaking of dessert, if you’re looking for the perfect Valentine’s Day-themed thing to make, Molly Wilkinson has you covered. Molly is based in Versailles and has an Online Pastry School. A French-style staple is the classic striped sailor shirt. Such a sweet and thoughtful gift for anyone!
A French-Inspired Bouquet
It’s no secret that I can rarely resist shopping for flowers in Paris. I have the best flower man and he always helps me pick the prettiest mixture for my bouquets. I’ve found two online boutiques with gorgeous blooms to satisfy your French-inspired flower needs. I think the bundles at H.Bloom are beautiful and they’re exactly like my flower man in Paris. The selection at Farmgirl Flowers really reminds me of what I’m seeing in Paris right now – and they even currently have peonies!
Caudalíe Overnight Recovery Oil
One of my favorite nightly rituals is putting on this Caudalíe Overnight Recovery Oil – it feels so good on your skin and smells amazing. I like that it’s an oil but it doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. Buy one for your Valentine and one for yourself!

It comes in a red crystal diamond shaped bottle and smells absolutely divine – Baccarat describes it as an “amber woody floral aura.” Plus, the scent really does last for a long time on your body thanks to the woody notes. While I don’t own it (yet), I cherish every sample I get.
