Confinement week five in Normandy

On the last day of week five of confinement in Normandy I slipped on my sweatpants for the very first time since we’ve been here. It’s something I’ve wanted to do basically since day one, but I’ve never really had the right opportunity. Funny since confinement in the countryside seems in and of itself a perfect excuse to wear sweatpants every day. But when I think about wearing sweatpants in France I think of Karl Lagerfeld’s declaration: “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat. You lost control of your life so you bought some sweatpants.”

Confinement Week Three in Normandy

The third week of confinement in Normandy was filled with a few more ups and downs than the previous two weeks…which I think is completely normal all things considered. There was a definite shift from feeling like we were temporarily in Normandy to a longer lasting situation. I’ve learned that now more than ever I thrive on routines and a little bit of alone time.

I don’t think any of us could’ve anticipated what April 2020 would be like in Paris (or anywhere). April is always something to look forward to. The days are longer, the light is brighter, and Paris comes alive again after winter. The month marks the beginning of one of the best times to visit and enjoy bth Paris and France. This year, we’ll all experience a different April in Paris.
