I wandered into Mon Square completely by (happy) accident after visiting the Musée de l’Orangerie. I’d wanted to try it out ever since I saw photos of it in November. It’s one of those places where you think it’s not possible for it to be that beautiful in real life. It exceeded all expectations.
Mon Square looks onto the square just in front of the Basilique Sainte-Clotilde on the Left Bank. Before walking by I had no intention of stopping in, but it’s the kind of place that literally pulls you in.

Mon Square’s Design
The color palette is a perfect combination of pinks, greens and gold. I wanted to sit in every part of the restaurant. Each part of the space is slightly different, equally gorgeous, and above all comfortable. I would’ve sat at the bar, but it wasn’t open because of COVID-19. I picked a spot just on the edge of the interior and the terrasse.

Florence Lopez designed the space, and there are collaborations with different artists throughout. The walls are hand-painted with lush garden scenes by Sacha Floch Poliakoff, the bar features a ceramic tree created by Bela Silva, and Mathias Kiss designed the private mirrored Kiss Room (I first discovered his work in Lille at the Palais des Beaux-Arts).
Mon Square Food and Drink Menu
Mon Square has one of the best and most extensive selections of tequila I’ve seen in Paris. The waiter put up with my very specific margarita order and the bartender made it perfectly. The next time I came back to Mon Square, the waiter immediately remembered my margarita order. That’s my kind of place.

The food menu is very Costes-esque, which isn’t surprising as owner Quentin de Fleuriau worked with the Costes brothers for 10 years.
Think Asian-inspired entrées like nems au poulet and tempuras gambas, a wide variety of plats from a dos de cabillaud to a cheeseburger, and perfect sides like the silkiest pomme purée and matchstick frites.
The drink menu is almost more extensive than the food menu and features signature cocktails like the Mon Square, the Ton Square, and the Dis Moi Oui.

Mon Square is open every day from 12 PM until 2 AM and is a great Paris spot to stop in for lunch, dinner, or just a drink in a chic Left Bank atmosphere. Reservations recommended.
