I have to say I was dreading March for a long time. It was the last full month before bébé two’s arrival and I had a feeling it would drag on and on forever. Surprisingly it went by quicker than I’d anticipated with a visit from a friend, plenty of activities to keep me busy (but not too busy), and a game changing third trimester discover. Thank you for hanging with me in the absence of recaps. We recently welcomed a new baby into the family and I’ve been partially inside a newborn bubble and partially chasing around our one year old. It’s been loads of fun but hard to get much of anything else done but I promise to catch up on the recaps soon! February was a special month as my parents came to visit and even in a heavily pregnant state we did a ton. I know I’m not alone in the feeling that January really drug on and on (and on…) this year, especially now that we’re at the end of February, which feels like it went by in the blink of an eye. We spent the first week of the month in the US wrapping up our holiday vacation and likely what was our last trip before bébé deux. I can find a silver lining for pretty much every month in Paris. In January my list includes les soldes d’hiver which are fixed, by law, and the Galette des Rois that you’ll find almost everywhere throughout the entire month and therefore giving you a reason to eat cake. By the second week of January the decorations are for the most part down in Paris and the only reminders of the holiday season are the occasional discarded trees on curbs waiting to be carried away. It’s been very cold so far and the next two months are always the most difficult for me to get through. We have a second baby arriving later this spring so I have a feeling the days will somehow manage to creep along even slower.
