There’s reason for excitement in France right now, which I think will immediately be evident upon reading some of the articles in Weekend Links Week 18. A few of my top picks for the week are news that anyone over 18 can be vaccinated in France starting on June 15th, a look inside the making of Margot Robbie’s Oscars Chanel dress, pandemic lessons from the era of ‘Les Miserables,’ and 11 inspiring life lessons from the late Alber Elbaz. Enjoy!
Five Friday Finds from France: April 30th
How is it already the last day of April? It seems like yesterday was April 1st. Watching the flowers blossom and trees get their leaves again seemed more beautiful than ever been before. It was a very welcome distraction from everything else going on in the world. Good news is on the horizon for France in May and the coming months as our latest déconfinement begins. This week’s Five Friday Finds from France includes a sweet muguet (Lily of the Valley) tradition plus Christian Dior’s love for muguets, a new café to add to your Paris list, dog friendly Jardin du Luxembourg, and more!
Weekend Getaway to Carolles, Normandy
After almost eight straight months in Paris, we decided on a quick weekend getaway to Carolles, Normandy. I love Paris, but it was so nice to get out of town – even just for a couple of nights. It’s amazing what a little change of scenery can do. The weekend left me feeling so refreshed and I’m already planning the next weekend trip to Normandy.
Weekend Links: Week 17
This weekend we are in Normandy and I couldn’t be happier about it. I’ve missed it so much and can’t even begin to describe how nice it feels to be out of Paris, if only for a weekend, after almost eight straight months. Weekend Links Week 17 has lots of articles that I hope you’ll enjoy reading. Some of my favorites include how you can rent Claude Monet’s Giverny house on Airbnb, a piece on the lost art of coffee drinking, how to buy a house in Normandy, and timeless vintage photos of Grace Kelly’s wedding to Prince Rainier III.
Five Friday Finds from France: April 23rd
It’s been pretty much a picture-perfect April in Paris week. It’s hard to believe that the pink blossoms are already falling and everything is almost fully green. It’s such a beautiful time of year in Paris and if you ever have the opportunity to visit in April I highly recommend it. This week’s Five Friday Finds from France features yet another Monoprix find, this time something perfect for summer garden parties, my favorite fraisier (so far) from Stohrer, the oldest pâtisserie in Paris, one-of-a-kind tissue books from Inès Mélia and more.
