Five Friday Finds from France: December 11th

Yesterday the Prime Minister spoke and announced that while the lockdown in France is technically ending on December 15th, the curfew is coming back. This time from 8PM until 6AM, including New Year’s Eve. Again, I understand why, but it doesn’t make it any easier. Despite yesterday’s news, this week’s Five Friday Finds from France includes festive happenings from the Ralph’s Coffee Truck pop-up to gift ideas for Champagne lovers and more!

Place de la Concorde Christmas Trees

One of my favorite new additions to the Paris holiday decorations this year are the Place de la Concorde trees. I can’t wait to go by at night and see them illuminated along with the obelisk. Hopefully they’ll be a new permanent addition because they smell great. You can check out some of my favorite Parisian decorations this year here.

Ralph’s Coffee Truck Pop-Up

While it still isn’t possible to pop into a café for a warm beverage sur place it is nice that so many places are offering takeaway options, including vin chaud. Perhaps the most festive of all takeaway places is the Ralph’s Coffee Truck pop-up. The truck is located just outside the Ralph Lauren store on Boulevard Saint-Germain. It’s hard not to feel a little Christmas cheer with a setting like Ralph Lauren.

Monoprix Ornaments

Last weekend I was pretty surprised to come across French-themed ornaments at Monoprix. I think I always assumed that French people, and especially Parisians, wouldn’t want an Eiffel Tower, baguette, or Arc de Triomphe ornament on their trees. Either I was wrong or Monoprix is catering to people like me, but I couldn’t resist bringing home the Arc de Triomphe for 4.80€!

The Bookseller

After the second Bouquinistes Auction, someone on Instagram recommended that I check out The Bookseller, a mystery (and fiction!) book about someone killing the beloved bouquinistes. I love a good thriller and am looking forward to reading it.

25 Gifts for Champagne Lovers

I was so happy to see the Town & Country article about 25 Gifts for the Ultimate Champagne Lover. There are so many great ideas from a first toast personalized art to a gorgeous blue and white ice bucket and more. I think my favorite is the Champagne saber – I know exactly the person on my list who it will be perfect for!

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Five Friday Finds from France. I’ll be back tomorrow with Weekend Links! If you want to check out the Ralph’s Coffee Truck Pop-Up, the address is 173 Boulevard Saint-Germain.
