We’re only nine days in, but I can say with certainty that the lyrics in the song “April In Paris” are 100% accurate. I’ve loved watching Paris bloom for the first time.
Time has flown by because I’ve been busy, which I can’t complain about. What surprises me the most is I haven’t really had time to feel homesick. Technology has played a major role in that, and I’ve also been lucky enough to go home a few times. Now that I’ll be in France (except for three days) until July, I feel like I can get back into a routine. The purpose of this blog is for me to document and share what I’m doing in Paris. But I blinked and it’s been almost two months since I’ve written anything here.
April in Paris Moments

Spring is a beautiful time of year in Dallas, but because I’m out walking around every day I notice the whole process more. The shades of pink and the flowers really pop against all of the grey buildings, streets, and sidewalks. Another favorite thing has been to watch the leaves come back on the trees. It really is like watching everything wake up from a long winter’s nap.

To top it all off, the skies and light have been incredible. There have been days with super bright blue skies and days where it looks like it will storm but never does. Also, having sunset at 8:30 PM now is a major game-changer. And the temperature is perfect. Now it’s really hard for me to make excuses to skip going to the gym 🙂

If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend visiting Paris in April. Be sure to take a walk along the Seine from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame to see the blooms and blossoms! And be sure to listen to “April in Paris” at least once.
