This week I’ve been home in Dallas for the first time since January 2020 which is pretty wild to think about. It’s been busy but it’s great to be home and really doesn’t feel like time has passed at all, which I’m sure is the same feeling people have had after returning to France. This week’s Five Friday Finds from France includes a beautiful book from Buly, the Cire Trudon Christmas candle collection, a new coffee shop in Paris and more. Enjoy!

The Beauty of Time Travel: Officine Universelle Buly and the Work of Ramdane Touhami Book

The Beauty of Time Travel is the perfect book for aspiring entrepreneurs, vintage fanatics, and lovers of all things France. The book details how Ramdane Touhami turned vintage brand Officine Universelle Buly into a global success story. If you’ve ever been in a Buly boutique in Paris you’ll know that it really is like traveling through time. All of the items make sure beautiful gifts with the calligraphy packaging.

Christmas Time in the City Plates

One of my favorite seasonal switches is regular plates for Christmas plates. I have a set of Spode Christmas plates that my grandmother gave me that I love. If you aren’t ready to commit to switching out an entire set of plates, the Christmas Time in the City dessert plates from Anthropologie are pretty adorable. They aren’t sold as a set so you could mix and match the cities or just go for Paris – the Eiffel Tower scene is so sweet!

Cire Trudon Christmas Candles

Cire Trudon is one of my very favorite candle brands. Each is handcrafted in Normandy and the candles are beautiful, elegant, and smell divine. This year’s Christmas collection is inspired by the Sun King and Versailles with golden vessels. I can hardly wait to get back to Paris to smell the candles in person. There are five scents: Ernesto which is leather and tobacco, Gloria which is firewood with spicy notes, Bayonne which is spicy chocolate, Gabriel which is chimney fire, and the classic Fir Christmas tree. Will I want one of each? Probably.

Noir Coffee Shop

There’s a new very Instagram friendly and also very good coffee shop on the Left Bank called Noir. The blue facade drew me in and I couldn’t wait to try the matcha latte. You can buy coffee beans, CBD cookies and beverages and more. Noir also has locations in the 8th arrondissement.

Monoprix Paris Napkins

The find of the week came from my friend Amy with these adorable Paris napkins from Monoprix. Of course, I had to bring some of the cocktail napkins back for my family. I looked online to see if I could find something similar and I just can’t – leave it to the French to create something so chic for 3€.
