Five Friday Finds from France: March 5th

The sun has been shining in Paris this week which made it go by quicker without a doubt. Our taste of warmer weather is gone, but I’m actually excited to bundle up and have a few more fires. This week’s Five Friday Finds from France features a new Andy Warhol exhibit in Paris, a video of live music in Saint-Germain-des-Prés last weekend, a French take on the viral TikTok pasta and more.

A New Andy Warhol Exhibit in Paris

While museums remain closed in France, galleries are open. Galerie Italienne is currently holding the largest exhibition of Andy Warhol’s photographs ever shown in Paris. I’m so excited to see this as Andy Warhol. Polaroids is one of my favorite coffee table books. “Andy Warhol: Instantanés” goes through April 10th and tickets can be reserved here.

A French Version of the TikTok Pasta

I’m a big fan of having pasta for dinner on Monday nights. It’s easy and doesn’t require too much effort. Lately I’ve been making a variation of the viral TikTok baked feta pasta. Everyone seems to have their own twist, which I respect. Mine is kind of a French version of the TikTok pasta with goat cheese. I promise you, it takes the pasta to the next level.

Big Macs and Burgundy

I really enjoy drinking wine, but I am by no means an expert and am completely clueless when it comes to wine pairings. When I heard about Big Macs and Burgundy, I knew it would be a book for me. Wine expert Vanessa Price makes food and wine pairings seem approachable (think Sancerre and Cheetos) and her tips memorable by breaking things down in a way that anyone can understand.

Live Music in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

When I close my eyes and think about an ideal Paris a lot comes to mind, but the vision almost always includes live music. On a picturesque Saturday morning last weekend the band that often plays in Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés was there and they put the biggest smile on my face. I hope you enjoy.

À Table in Paris

Last but not least is another must-have book about Paris. À Table in Paris explores the Parisian culinary scene. The book is filled with iconic cafés, bistros, and brasseries as well as plenty of hidden gems in each arrondissement. It even has a place for you to add places to your Paris list, take notes on what you tried and loved and more. The illustrations are fabulous and it will help you get in a little armchair travel before French borders open again.
