Five Friday Finds from France: June 11th

five friday finds from france featuring a wicker cocktail basket, tory burch embroidered market basket and more

Another week has seemingly flown by thanks to lots of excitement in the air. Life is finally starting to feel like normal again in France with restaurants, visitors and more. This week’s Five Friday Finds from France has an overarching bag and basket theme. There’s a fabulous wicker cocktail basket from My French Country Home, a French-inspired embroidered market basket from Tory Burch, my summer market tote modification and more. I hope you enjoy!

Wicker Cocktail Basket from My French Country Home

I cannot get over this adorable wicker cocktail basket from the My French Country Home boutique. It would be the absolute perfect addition to any summer picnic or apéro. Not only does it make carrying bottles and glasses easier, but it also adds a lovely touch of French country charm. A summer entertaining essential for sure!

Tory Burch Embroidered Market Basket

This time of year in France it really is all about market baskets. While a lot of people tend to stick to the traditional market baskets in various sizes, I think this Tory Burch embroidered market basket is a fun change. The colorful embroidered fruits are inspired by the illustrations on the brown paper bags you get from the market here. It also comes in a micro basket format. They are a bit more expensive than a traditional market basket, but each bag is hand-woven by artisans from Doum for Women, a women’s weaving collective in Marrakech, Morocco. The collective gives more than 200 women financial independence and provides education for their children.

Mini Market Cooler

french summer market bag addition

We’ve had warmer weather in Paris lately and I wanted to be able to go to the market, stop for a coffee afterwards, and not be worried about my perishables. I decided to pop my mini Thermos cooler into my bag. I shared a photo to Instagram stories and got so many questions about the cooler. It’s small, but I’m always surprised by how much it holds. I’ve been having some freezer issues so I’ve been using it recently to keep ice cubes cold and it works so well – the ice cubes stay frozen for 12+ hours. It was great for my market tote because it barely weighs anything and gave me peace of mind that my favorite butter wouldn’t be melted before I got home!

Oh No! I Bought Champagne Instead of Milk…Again Tote

It happens to the best of us! I saw a lady carrying this tote and though it was pretty funny. Hers came from Champagne Julien Chopin – it’s not on their website but perhaps you could get one by ordering a bottle of Champagne. Otherwise there are some options on Etsy. I would love a double-sided version – one with Champagne and the other tequila!

Petit Plission aux Tuileries

The Jardin des Tuileries is getting even better thanks to Maison Plisson’s latest additon – Petit Plisson aux Tuileries. So far I’ve just been for a morning coffee but they have salads, hot specials, and cheese and charcuterie boards. It’s in a well-shaded area which will be great for summer. Just another reason to spend more time in my favorite garden in Paris!
